GAYLE LYNN FALKENTHAL, APR, M.S., is Public Relations Director for Speak for Success, and President of the Falcon Valley Group, a San Diego based communications consulting company.

Gayle spent 15 years as an award-winning broadcast editor, producer and host in radio and television before applying her knowledge and experience with the media to the field of public relations. She is considered one of the country’s foremost experts on media relations and crisis communications. She has conducted thousands of interviews both as a broadcaster and as a high-level spokesperson.

Gayle has represented the American Red Cross, San Diego County District Attorney, San Diego Convention Center Corporation, San Diego County Water Authority, and then-City Councilmember Dick Murphy, and acted as a spokesperson during the “Heaven’s Gate” mass suicide and the catastrophic Cedar Fire, California’s largest single wildfire in its history. She has worked with elected officials, prosecuting attorneys, emergency responders, boards of directors, and business executives, preparing them to maximize their opportunity to communicate with target audiences.

Drawing on this background, Gayle trains and coaches individuals to work successfully with the media and to confidently communicate key messages in media interviews. She helps clients know what to do when the unexpected happens in any interview situation.

Gayle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio-Television and a Master of Science degree in Mass Communication from San Diego State University. She has earned professional Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), a designation held by the two 2% of public relations professionals in the United States.

The San Diego Press Club honored Gayle with the Andy Mace Award for Career Achievement in Public Relations. She is a multiple winner of the prestigious “Golden Mike” award from the Radio-TV News Association of Southern California. She is a board member and past President of the Press Club, and board member of the Public Relations Society of America.
